Kathy Deck is a Holistic Pet Therapist who offers PetMassage, Reiki and Animal Communication sessions by appointment only through her own practice but is now scheduling sessions at Bark City for their canine clientele.

is a signature treatment exclusively at Bark City.
This one hour session will assist in the healing process by stimulating wellness, vitality, balance, and peace by the use of PetMassage and Reiki. Kathy also uses animal communication to build bridges of understanding between you and your pet or animal companion. She uses her ability to communicate with animals using a meditative listening technique while using Reiki to manipulate the animal’s life force energy.
This one hour session includes relaxation/reflexology PetMassage, Reiki energy healing/balancing and communication with your animal. Kathy offers a holistic, alternative approach that benefits your pet by keeping it healthy for a longer quality of life. Regular maintenance sessions are suggested because physical issues begin in the energy field first before manifesting in the physical body as pain or illness. By that time the issue is more entrenched and takes greater time and effort to break up, dispel, and restore a healthy balance.
What the Head To Tail Treatment includes:
Your dog will be escorted into a private session room for one hour. Kathy creates a calm and safe environment to help relax your dog and let any tension fade before the treatment begins.
During the hour Kathy spends with your pet; she will start with slow, soft strokes and rubbing of pressure points to stimulate the flow and functions of your dog’s body. She will also scan the body for “cool” or “hot” areas, indicating energy imbalances. If your dog has these areas, they will be treated and will be important for you to pay attention to what functions are related to these areas.
While Kathy is massaging the dog’s body, she is also placing her hand on certain energy points (called Chakras) on the dog’s body. They have many points but she concentrates on the major 7. She will place her hand on this areas to help direct healing energy know as Reiki (or translated as life force) through her from our Divine Creator. Kathy can also detect any energy imbalances during the Reiki and PetMassage session in any of the chakras and helps to balance them.
Pet Communication just comes along with the territory. Kathy has studied Animal Communication under Tera Thomas of Hummingbird Farm in Pittsboro , NC . Tera is an Animal Communicator and author who is exceptionally intuitive with the animals we share our world with.
Kathy asks your dog at the beginning of the session that she would like to communicate with him –sending and receiving messages-only if the dog is willing. Dogs have more to say than you think!
So Kathy is providing PetMassage, Reiki and communicating with your pet all in the one hour session. What better than to make your canine friend get his body soothed, his energy balanced with healing energy being sent to where ever it is need and a pet communication therapy session.

Kathy Deck currently shares her home with 5 indoor cats, a mouse, and two degus as well two outdoor pygmy goats. She is the caretaker of four feral cats on her property and has been involved with the love and care of animal all her life.
She owned and operated a pet sitting business – Twisted Whiskers- for the last three years but due to an auto accident in 2007, had to dissolve the business but still does pet sitting for a few clients. Her focus now is on holistic healing work with animals and their owners.

- A Member of the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork.
